Seeking Art through Touch & Needle Felting
My goal with this exhibition was to portray famous works of art through needle felting, so that people can experience them in a new way and people who have a visual impairment may experience them for the first time.
Inspired by my daughter, a sensory seeker, who would run her hands over wool sculptures and proclaim, "I can feel the colors!"
Each color is a different fiber with a different texture, and I have tried to incorporate sculptural elements into the pieces so that they can be felt, grasped, and poked. Each piece provided information about the original artist and the nature of the original work.
